Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hope all your shopping is about completed, the yule log is selected and the mistletoe hung in a prominent place.

I am asking that anyone who has a special event this week or next (before Christmas Day or New Year's Eve) please let me know so that we can schedule the clean up as close to the event as weather permits.  This week looks to be more normal (lol) with temps up in the upper 40's and nights only just touching freezing.  I am not yet guessing about next week.

We will be offering core aeration in January for anyone who would like it done.  We will work it around the weather for non frozen conditions and with the turf softened with enough moisture.  For those of you who have us apply Fertilizer and Lime to your turf, we will do the January liming on the same trip.

The Mast Crop (acorns and other nuts) was very small this year, probably due to the two periods of drought.  You can expect deer damage to begin to increase now that the cold weather has set in and with less natural food available.  Your deer repellents need to be used with diligence.

We have been discussing with a few of you some special projects for this coming Spring.  If anyone else has any project that they are thinking about, please, let's discuss it and get it slotted for its correct time period.  I am really going to work very hard this Spring to get the pruning and refurbishing work completed at the optimum time for best regrowth.

We will be splitting up the pruning according to the needs of the plant materials even more than we have in the past.  This means that Crapes, Liriope, and plants that bloom on New Wood will be done first, probably starting in mid to late February (weather determined).  Then other materials in March and April, with Azaleas after they bloom.  Last Spring Mother Nature took us from Winter to Summer over the course of a week and we were never able to do the work like I would prefer.

A few of you have given our name to a neighbor or friend and we do very much appreciate your trust in us to do a good job for them.  Thank you.  Your word of mouth is our advertising and as our way of thanking you we do give a 'finders fee' credit which you would see on your invoice  with the name of the referral that becomes a customer.  Please continue to 'pass us around'.

Again, thank you all for putting your landscaping needs in our hands.

Have a great end to 2010 and here's looking forward to an even better 2011.

Merry Christmas to all!!!
